To connect your OrCam Read to Bluetooth devices:
- Enter pairing mode on your Bluetooth device
- On OrCam Bluetooth earphones you can do this by holding down the power button (the round middle button) for about 6 seconds until the light flashes blue and red.
- When the light is flashing blue and red, that means it's in pairing mode and ready to be connected. It will not connect, if the light is not flashing.
- For other Bluetooth devices please check the device's user manual for instructions on how to enter pairing mode
- On OrCam Bluetooth earphones you can do this by holding down the power button (the round middle button) for about 6 seconds until the light flashes blue and red.
- On your OrCam Read Device:
- Double-tap on the trigger button rapidly and you wait for the long beep.
- At the end of the long beep, say "Connect to the Bluetooth Audio Device"
- If your device has "Hey OrCam enabled, you can skip steps 1 and 2 above, and simply say: "Hey OrCam, Connect to the Bluetooth Audio Device"
- Then tap on the trigger button to confirm your choice to connect and find a Bluetooth device.
- Now the device should be making faint beeps (this means the device is searching for your Bluetooth audio device).
- The OrCam Read will then say the name of the devices it has found.
- Use the volume buttons to navigate the Bluetooth devices found until it finds the correct device
- Tap on the trigger button to connect to the device selected.
- Now your OrCam Read is connected to the Bluetooth device.
- Using your Bluetooth device, try to read something with the OrCam Read to confirm that the sound is transmitting via the Bluetooth device.
Now, that you've connected it once. You don't need to do this every time. The earphones will automatically connect to your OrCam device when you put the earphones on pairing mode.
You can adjust the volume with the OrCam device and with the volume buttons on the Bluetooth device.
Note:
If the OrCam Read did not connect, the Bluetooth device was probably not in pairing mode. Remember, on OrCam Bluetooth earphones the red and blue light will flash on the earphones when they are in pairing mode. (This will differ if you are using a different Bluetooth device)
OrCam recommends keeping 1 specific pair of Bluetooth earphones for you OrCam device, to ensure that they will always pair with your OrCam device.
