There are 2 ways to connect your OrCam device to WiFi in order to download the latest software updates.
Please note that your device needs to be connected to the wall charger to connect to WiFi.
1. On the app
- If not already done, download and install the app for your OrCam device.
- Click here for instructions on how to download and install the OrCam app (available for iPhone and Android).
- Click on the "Controls" button in the bottom-right corner
- Connect your device to the wall charger if not already connected.
- Click on "Connectivity Settings"
- Click on " Wi-Fi".
- Select the network you want to connect to
- When prompted, enter the WiFi network password
- Your device will now connect to the WiFi, and will reconnect automatically provided it is within range of the WiFi network.
- If there are any software updates available your device will automatically download them every time you connect your device to the wall charger, provided it is within range of the WiFi network.
- Open your internet browser and go to: https://www.orcam.com/en/wifiset/
- Enter your network name and password
- Click on "Generate QR Code"
- Use your OrCam device to take a picture of the QR code
- On your OrCam Read, use the arrow/pointer laser mode to take a picture of the QR code.
- Your device will now connect to the WiFi, and will reconnect automatically provided it is within range of the WiFi network.
- If there are any software updates available your device will automatically download them every time you connect your device to the wall charger, provided it is within range of the WiFi network.
Please note that OrCam devices only support 2.4 Ghz WiFi. OrCam devices currently do not support 5 Ghz WiFi. Please contact your internet service provider for details about your WiFi network frequency.
